Patient Information and Clinic Policies
Welcome to Southern Pain and Spine! At SPAS, we strive to provide you with the best possible care and ensure your well-being. To maintain an efficient and patient-focused practice, we have a few important rules and policies in place. Please take a moment to review them:
- Medication Refills: All medication refills must be addressed during an office visit. They are NOT refilled at procedure appointments. We kindly request that you do not rely on your pharmacy to handle refill requests as it is your responsibility to keep track of your medication refill dates.
- Unavailable Medication: If your pharmacy is unable to supply your prescribed medication, we kindly ask that you take the initiative to call other pharmacies in your area to find one that has it available. Your active participation in this process is greatly appreciated.
- Pre-Procedure Requirements: For your own safety, if you are currently taking antibiotics, it is crucial that you inform our office staff promptly. This information allows us to reschedule any necessary procedures in a timely manner. Your well-being is our top priority.
- Reviewing Scan Results: If you have an MRI or CT scan scheduled and would like to discuss the results with us, we kindly request that you call our office to make an appointment. This ensures that we can allocate sufficient time to provide you with a thorough review and address any questions or concerns you may have.
- Injection Requests: Should you require an injection, requests and authorization requests must be performed during an office visit. We are unable to accommodate injection-only appointments without a clinic visit. Please schedule your visit accordingly.
- Telephone Availability: While our providers are dedicated to your care, their availability for phone conversations is limited due to their busy schedules in the clinic. Our medical assistants are always ready and happy to assist you with any inquiries or concerns you may have over the phone.
- Missed Appointments: A $35 no-show fee will be charged for missed clinic appointments, and a $150 fee for missed procedure appointments, without a 24-hour notice. We kindly request that you inform us in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. This allows us to offer the slot to another patient in need of care.
- Respectful Behavior: We strive to maintain a positive and respectful environment for all patients and staff members. Any form of rude or disrespectful behavior towards our team will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from our practice. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
- Prior Authorization for Medications & Procedures: We understand that dealing with prior authorizations can sometimes be challenging and may cause delays in accessing your treatment. Please be assured that we are committed to assisting you through this process as quickly as possible. It's important to note that any delays are often due to the requirements set by your insurance plan.
- Contact Us: You can contact us through the following channels:
- Phone: You can reach us at 678-971-4167. Our friendly staff is ready to assist you during our clinic hours (8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday).
- Patient Portal: Returning patients may contact us through the Athena Patient Portal. Portal messages are checked during normal clinic hours, and we will make every effort to address your concerns in a timely manner
Thank you for taking the time to review these important guidelines. By adhering to these policies, we can ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for all patients and staff at Southern Pain and Spine. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and look forward to providing you with exceptional care!.
