ATLANTA, GA – February 4, 2025
Southern Pain and Spine Associates (SPAS) and Pain Consultants of Atlanta (PCA), two of Georgia’s leading interventional pain management practices, are pleased to announce their recent merger. This strategic partnership will integrate PCA’s Fayetteville, Midtown, Newnan, and Stockbridge locations into Southern Pain and Spine’s growing network of clinics and surgery centers.
As part of the merger, Pain Consultants of Atlanta will adopt the Southern Pain and Spine name, bringing together two of the region’s foremost pain management groups under a unified brand. The merger leverages the strengths, resources, and expertise of both organizations, expanding their reach and enhancing their ability to provide exceptional care to patients throughout North Georgia and the Greater Atlanta Area.
“We are excited to announce the merger of PCA and SPAS. The combined entity will have a larger footprint across Georgia, enabling us to deliver a more comprehensive care solution to our patients,” said Dr. Rod Duralde, founder of PCA. “By adopting the Southern Pain and Spine name, we will better reflect the expanded geographic area we serve, while ensuring that our patients continue to receive the high-quality care and customer service they expect from our team.”
Following the integration, Southern Pain and Spine will operate eight clinic locations and seven ambulatory surgery centers, offering a robust team of 16 providers. The expanded practice will serve more than 50,000 patients across Georgia, with a continued focus on personalized, patient-centered care.
“We are thrilled about this partnership and the opportunity to combine our two organizations, both of which share a commitment to providing innovative and effective spine and pain care,” said Dr. Ankur Patel, founder and CEO of Southern Pain and Spine. “This merger strengthens our ability to make a positive impact on our communities and advance the field of pain medicine.”
Dr. Patel will continue to serve as CEO and Managing Partner of Southern Pain and Spine, overseeing the organization’s operations and business strategy. Dr. Jordan Tate, Chief Medical Officer of the combined entity, will guide the clinical direction and ensure that patients continue to receive the highest standard of care.
