Margaret Riso, MD is double board-certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. While originally hailing from California, she now considers Georgia home and is passionate about serving patients in her community.
Dr. Riso graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She first came to Georgia to attend Emory University School of Medicine, earning her Doctorate in Medicine. She returned to California to complete her internship and residency in anesthesiology at University of California Irvine, where she was chief resident in her final year of training. Ultimately, Georgia called her back and she completed her Pain Medicine fellowship at Emory.
After finishing her training, she joined the faculty at Emory from 2020-2023. She is now excited to join the team at Southern Pain and Spine. Dr. Riso is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. Dr. Riso provides her patients with a specialized treatment plan that includes innovative, evidence-based therapies to help minimize opioid use.
